I spoke to a very enthusiastic crowd who came out to the yurt camp at Val-David, a few hours north of Montreal, where we were staying. First time I ever did a speaking gig by campfire!
Sometimes the approach to the climb involves climbing, too. The approach can be even harder than the climb, since you’re not on a rope.

Hiking near Las Vegas, on Mt. Charleston, at about 10,000ft elevation. Beautiful, flower-filled canyons up there! It’s easy to forget that you’re only a few miles from the desert below!
After the premiere and the campfire speech, I went climbing w/the whole film crew at Val-David.
The first five pictures are of my first lead there. Lead-climbing is the most dangerous (the leader takes all the risks), the hardest, and the most fulfilling.
