Missing You All

Sometimes, life just takes over. And sometimes the only thing to do is just let it.

Sometimes, life just takes over. And sometimes the only thing to do is just let it.

I’ve been gone for quite a while, and I’ve missed this. Moving from a huge house with yards and trees and pool, into a very small place with no yard and very little space, in a different state, is an all-encompassing endeavor. The book that was supposed to be out by November has succumbed to the demands of moving, of packing and emptying, of not having the tools or the time to move ahead with it.

To say only that it’s been a lot of work is to demean the whole process. I’m no stranger to hard work, long hours, incessant demands on my time. Nothing new there. But I didn’t expect the uphill struggles, the non-stop putting out of brush fires, as workers said one thing but did another, or as stores or companies found the simplest tasks to be impossible. For weeks. Or months.

So in this season of hope, I hope that someday soon my life will return to what I used to call normal. That all the brush fires will soon be successfully extinguished. That the book will actually be a book instead of a dream…. It has to! I’ve been following my own advice to make it a reality, referring often back to the counsel of my book-to-be, Success in 7 Steps.

Christmas with grandkids was special. Ushering a new book into the new year promises a special kind of thrill, too.

Stay tuned….
